Phil Morabito founded Pierpont Communications in 1987, and since 1992 has grown the firm from a solo operation to 25 full- and part-time employees with fee billings in excess of $4 million. The company has served a broad range of clients including individuals, small businesses, partnerships and corporations including several Fortune 500 companies.
Pierpont has been named to the Houston 100 list of the city's fastest-growing private companies five times in the last eight years. In addition, PRWeek ranked Pierpont for 1998 as the 11th fastest growing public relations firm in the US, fastest growing in the Southwest and 8th largest in Texas. In 2001 Pierpont was named an Inc 500 company, and was selected from more than 800 entries as a finalist for the 2002 PRWeek Mid Size Agency of the Year Award.
Phil was selected as the 1999 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Houston Partnership CEO Roundtables for businesses under $2 million. He was also selected a Houston finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1999, 2001 and 2002.
Phil has more than 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing, beginning with the Madison Avenue firm of Robert Marston & Associates in New York City. At Marston he rose to senior account supervisor, handling accounts totaling almost $1 million annually for major corporations such as Spalding Sports Worldwide, Pillsbury, Levi Strauss, Dean Witter, Cella Wines, The Marriott Corporation and 1-800-Flowers. Phil earned a BS and an MBA in marketing and is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Houston in the Graduate School of Business where he teaches integrated marketing communications.
